A Bit About Emily
As an EMDR therapist, Emily feels great passion for helping clients recover from adverse or traumatic experiences, and walking alongside them as they begin to see the world through a new, more hopeful lens. Trauma and other mental health struggles greatly affect our most important relationships and connections - and our relationships certainly impact our mental health. Therefore, helping clients build healthy relationships is central to Emily’s therapeutic approach.
Emily works to be very collaborative during sessions; together, she will help you develop deep self-understanding and self-compassion, uproot negative patterns or limiting beliefs that no longer serve you, and work as a team to discover your most authentic 'you.' You can expect she will find ways to infuse a little humor, too!

Emily offers individual, couple, premarital, and family sessions. During your sessions, you can expect a science-based explanation behind the skills you discuss (because Emily knows knowledge is power!) as well as an encouraging, empathetic, goal-oriented and a truly nonjudgmental approach. Skills training in emotion regulation, coping, communication, and emotional intelligence are integral to Emily’s therapeutic style - and you can expect to model them all during session. As she says quite often, “This isn’t just thinking therapy, this is doing therapy!”

Clients' holistic wellness is Emily’s top priority in her therapeutic process. Together, you will analyze your overall well-being, including emotional, social, physical, and even professional, then create specific goals to get you on the path to balance and fulfillment.
