A Bit About Kristin
Kristin earned her bachelor’s degree in psychology from George Mason University and her MSW from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington. Kristin has many years of experience working with children, families, and the elderly through local social services agencies and uses that knowledge to help those affected by abuse and neglect to move on from their traumatic past.

Kristin is passionate about working with teens and adults who have experienced trauma such as child abuse and neglect, sexual violence, and complex trauma presentations with dissociation. Kristin also treats depression, anxiety, and other comorbidities.

Kristin believes in spending the time to get to know each of her clients by learning about their values, needs, and personal goals. Kristin creates a warm, accepting environment with her disarming demeanor and sense of humor. To her, therapy should be a place where you are accepted as you are, not as who you think you should be. Self-compassion and acceptance are important aspects of Kristin’s work, especially when it comes to the psychological burden people carry on their shoulders each and every day.
Kristin uses primarily Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing therapy (EMDR), with components of Trauma-focused Cognitive Behavioral therapy (TF-CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy with her clients depending on their individual needs.
