A Bit About Chris
Chris has a particular passion for supporting new parents and those adjusting to evolving family roles and partnerships. As a parent himself, he understands the emotional complexity of early parenthood and the strain life changes can place on self-identity and connection with others. He offers a supportive, non-judgmental space where clients can explore difficult emotions and work toward meaningful, values-driven change.
Chris draws from evidence-based practices, including Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT). His approach helps clients develop greater awareness of the connection between emotions and behavior, while building practical skills for emotion regulation, mindfulness, and effective communication. For couples, Chris uses EFT to address emotional disconnection, communication breakdowns, and cycles of conflict by focusing on attachment needs and interaction patterns.
He works collaboratively with clients to help them gain clarity, develop resilience, and feel more grounded and connected—whether they’re entering parenthood, facing relational strain, or struggling with anxiety and overwhelm.
Chris, a Wilmington native, began his career as a Professional School Counselor, where he developed a strong foundation in supporting individuals through significant life challenges and transitions. Since then, he has expanded his practice to provide therapy for individuals and couples navigating relationship struggles, anxiety, and major life changes.
Chris holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Communication Studies from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington and a Master’s in Education from the University of North Carolina at Pembroke. Outside the therapy room, he enjoys live music, disc golf, and walks with his wife, son, and dogs—embracing the balance he encourages in others.
