Introducing LaQuan Paige, LCMHCA: A grounded, compassionate therapist who helps clients reconnect with themselves and their sense of purpose.

When I was a kid, there were so many things I just knew I was going to be when I grew up. The list ranged from being an X-Men superhero, to being a big time DJ or poet, to me being a professional football player.

In all honesty, I had no idea what I wanted to do, who I was, or who I wanted to be. I just knew I wanted to do something that I had a passion for, something that made me feel like it was my purpose.

It wasn’t until my final year of high-school where my psychology teacher, who incidentally was also my favorite teacher, offered encouragement that changed my life forever and gave me purpose and direction.

They saw something in me that I hadn’t yet fully seen in myself. They reflected back my curiosity about peoplemy ability to listen deeply, and my willingness to show up genuinely and authentically.

That conversation gave me direction. Then and there, I decided I was going to go to college, major in psychology, and from there, go to graduate school to get my Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling.

I now work as a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate (LCMHCA).

At my core, I am still that easy going, reflective person who enjoys music across genres, appreciates poetry, and has a deep resonance with superheroes. But now, I integrate that into the work I do with clients.

In session, I use a collaborative, integrative approach, while also cultivating a calm, supportive space where clients can explore their thoughts, emotions, and patterns without judgment. I have seen my approach help clients build practical skills to manage stress, clarify goals, and make meaningful changes, while strengthening insight, confidence, and resilience in their relationships and daily lives.

While my specialties may be drawn from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), and Motivational Interviewing (MI), my interventions are as eclectic and grounded as I am. Expect authentic, warm, engaging sessions where we work together to help you connect with YOU to find and live out your own purpose and passions.

If you are looking for a therapist, my ideal client is someone who may be feeling stressed, overwhelmed, or disconnected and is looking for support. If you are seeking a calm, nonjudgmental, and compassionate space to build insight, strengthen coping skills, and feel more grounded and connected in your life, that is the work I most love doing!

I may not have superpowers like an X-Man, a football career, or a DJ residency beyond my own playlists at home (my dog enjoys my shows by the way lol), but I have a tremendous amount of love, respect, and appreciation for what I am doing now.

Not only do I get to do something I have a passion for, but I also get to support others in finding their way the same way someone supported me in finding mine, and for that, I am grateful.
